The RYCO Local Branch Office in Serbia, together with UNFPA and UNDP, organized a two-day capacity-building training on 13–14 December for civil society organizations, focusing on the Youth, Peace and Security (YPS) and Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agendas. The training brought together 20 CSO representatives to strengthen their understanding of YPS and WPS frameworks and their relevance within Serbia’s policy context.
Participants engaged in interactive sessions on youth-inclusive analysis, community-based interventions, and the prevention of social tensions, misinformation, and hate speech, with a strong focus on youth leadership and civic engagement. The training also highlighted RYCO’s work in advancing the YPS agenda across the Western Balkans, introduced funding opportunities for youth-led initiatives, and presented the redesigned “Participation Game” as a practical tool for engaging young people in peacebuilding efforts.
This event marked the first joint activity in a broader cooperation between RYCO Serbia and UN agencies, laying the foundation for future initiatives supporting youth as key actors in peace and security processes.
