Call for Project Proposals under the National Technology and Innovation Programmes (PTI) 2026

The National Agency for Scientific Research and Innovation (AKKSHI) has launched a call for project proposals under the National Technology and Innovation Programmes (PTI) 2026, aimed at supporting applied scientific research, technology development and innovation in priority sectors.

The call is open to Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in partnership with businesses, industry or public institutions, with mandatory co-financing (80% grant from AKKSHI and 20% from the partner). Projects must focus on the development of new or significantly improved products, processes or services with market or societal potential.

Priority areas include biodiversity and environment, agriculture and biotechnology, health, ICT and artificial intelligence, social sciences, water and energy, with strong emphasis on digitalisation, green transition and innovation. Projects should last 24–30 months, with a maximum grant of up to ALL 5,000,000.

The deadline for submission is 27 February 2026. Proposals will be evaluated in March 2026, with project implementation expected to start in April 2026.
