Montenegro’s Research Community Invited to Apply for New EU Funding

New Horizon Europe calls under Cluster 6: Food, Bioeconomy, Natural Resources, Agriculture and Environment have been published and are now open for participation. These calls provide funding opportunities for research and innovation projects that contribute to sustainable food systems, biodiversity protection, climate resilience, natural resource management and the circular bioeconomy.

Montenegrin universities, research institutes, public bodies and private partners are eligible to take part as members of international consortia. Projects funded under these calls will support collaboration across Europe and address key societal challenges in line with European research priorities.

Interested applicants should review the detailed call texts and submit proposals through the EU Funding & Tenders Portal, which is the official platform for Horizon Europe applications:

The overarching framework and thematic priorities for these calls are described on the European Commission’s Cluster 6 page:

For local context and dissemination about these calls, the Government of Montenegro published an announcement outlining their relevance to national stakeholders:

Key deadlines for this set of calls fall in April 2026, but applicants should consult the Funding & Tenders Portal for precise dates by topic.

This set of Horizon Europe opportunities represents a valuable chance for Montenegrin organisations to engage in cutting-edge research and strengthen their links within the European Research Area.

We are always here to talk!
