Institute for Economics and Forecasting (IEF)

The Institute for Economics and Forecasting (IEF) of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine is a leading research organisation in economic studies and a central contributor to Ukraine’s R&I legislative and policy
framework. IEF’s Department of Innovation Policy has participated in drafting nearly all major government documents related to research and innovation in recent years, and its researchers sit on key working groups
and commissions of both the Ministry of Education and Science and the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Beyond its domestic policy role, IEF has engaged in a range of international projects over the past
decade, including EU Horizon initiatives, UNECE projects, and bilateral collaborations with institutions from EU member states. This dual function — as both a policy actor and an internationally connected research
institute — makes IEF a particularly relevant partner for POLICY ENLARGE’s work in Ukraine. In POLICY ENLARGE, IEF leads Task 4.10, coordinating national capacity building activities in Ukraine.
