The European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC) offers open access to its research infrastructures for users from academia, research organisations, industry, SMEs, and the wider public and private sector. The facilities cover fields including chemistry, biosciences, physical sciences, ICT, energy storage, structural assessment, nanobiotechnology, and nuclear safety and security.
Access is provided through different schemes, including relevance-driven and market-driven calls. For some non-nuclear infrastructures, additional access costs may be waived for projects involving institutions from countries eligible under the Horizon Europe widening actions, and support for travel and subsistence may also be available under specific conditions.
Open calls are currently available for several JRC infrastructures, with deadlines including 31 May 2026 and 5 June 2026. Further details on eligibility, facilities, and application procedures are available on the JRC website.
