BEAMING is a Horizon Europe project under the WIDERA work programme which seeks to promote innovation and valorization of knowledge in the field of bioeconomy through cooperation between higher education institutions, with a special focus on widening countries in Central-Eastern Europe, South-Eastern Europe and the Western Balkans.
The BEAMING objectives aim to boost global competitiveness, encourage research in bioeconomy, and progress toward a more sustainable and collaborative future in Europe by:
- Fostering collaboration among higher education institutions in Central and Eastern Europe, Southeast Europe, and the Western Balkans.
- Promoting bioeconomy through the implementation of strategies and actions to reduce the technology and knowledge transfer gap.
- Advocating for structural reforms and a culture of excellence within the academic sector.
- Enhancing innovation capacity and practical application of research results through the Quadruple Helix innovation ecosystem approach.
- Facilitating international collaboration and knowledge transfer to strengthen research capabilities in countries with low R&D performance.
