The Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation in Montenegro has announced a competition for co-funding joint research projects between Montenegro and Slovenia for the period 2025-2026. This initiative is based on the Agreement between the Governments of Montenegro and Slovenia on scientific and technological cooperation, as well as the Protocol from the Seventh Session of the Joint Commission for Scientific and Technological Cooperation between the two countries.
The competition aims to co-finance mutual visits (travel and stay expenses) of researchers from Montenegro and researchers from the Republic of Slovenia, who will implement joint research projects (hereinafter: bilateral projects) in the period 2025-2026. year. The Republic of Slovenia will co-finance their longer visits (from 1 to 3 months) for postgraduate students (master’s and doctoral students) and young doctors of science who defended their doctorate no more than five years ago (young researchers).
Priority will be given to projects that were not funded in previous competitions and involve researchers at the beginning of their careers. This competition represents an important opportunity to strengthen scientific research cooperation between Montenegro and Slovenia and promote their participation in European Union and other international research and innovation programmes.
