Summary of the report

The report on Albania’s integration into the new European Research Area (ERA) for the monitoring period 2022/24 provides an overview of the current state of Albania ’s progress and its challenges related to ERA integration since the establishment of the new ERA. Albania is making progress on the priorities defined in the European Research
Area (ERA) Policy Agenda 2022-2024.

The country’s efforts for integration in the ERA and implementation of the ERA Policy Agenda are laid out in the National Economic Reform Programme 2021-2023.

Several key initiatives underpin Albania’s commitment to the ERA Priorities, such as the new Draft Law of Science, which puts impetus on Open Science, Research Infrastructure and Knowledge Valorisation, the opening of its EURAXESS Portal, and the EIT Raw materials KIC centre, which will open in January 2024.

The EU for Innovation Portal https://euforinnovation.al/ was launched to foster the linkages between research and the market.
