The Second Italy-Serbia Forum, held on Thursday 28th November 2024 at the Area Science Park in Trieste, proved to be a significant occasion for collaboration and knowledge exchange between Italy and Serbia’s scientific and technological communities. The event brought together experts and policymakers to discuss innovative research, explore new partnerships, and delve into key scientific topics.
This forum, following the first edition held in Belgrade in March 2023, featured prominent figures such as Anna Maria Bernini, Italy’s Minister for Universities and Research, and Jelena Begović, Serbia’s Minister of Science, Technological Development, and Innovation.
Throughout the day, discussions covered a wide range of topics, with experts examining potential future collaborations across various scientific fields, as well as sharing best practices and successful models. One particularly compelling panel focused on the intersection of biomedicine and artificial intelligence—an area of growing relevance and interest worldwide.
In addition to the insightful panels, the forum included a bilateral meeting between Minister Bernini and Minister Begović. The meeting concluded with the signing of a memorandum of understanding, further cementing the strong ties between the two nations in the fields of science, technology, and innovation.
This forum not only fostered deeper cooperation between Italy and Serbia but also provided a platform to shape the future of scientific and technological advancement through collaborative efforts.
