Erasmus+ Call: Alliances for Innovation – Strengthening Education, Skills, and Enterprise Collaboration

Erasmus+ with Alliances for Innovation aims to boost Europe’s innovation capacity through stronger cooperation and knowledge flow among higher education, vocational education and training (VET), businesses, and the broader socio-economic environment. They focus on boosting innovation, addressing skills mismatches, and supporting new curricula development to meet labour market needs.

Key Objectives:
  1. Foster innovation in teaching, learning, and assessment.
  2. Develop skills in green and digital domains to support the EU’s twin digital and green transitions.
  3. Build partnerships to address challenges such as climate change, digitisation, and emerging technologies.
  4. Promote entrepreneurial mindsets and corporate social responsibility.
Two Funding Lots:

Lot 1: Alliances for Education and Enterprises

  • Transnational projects fostering collaboration between HE, VET, and enterprises.
  • Focus on multidisciplinary approaches, incubators, knowledge exchange, and creating sustainable partnerships.
  • Requires at least 4 EU member states, 8 partners, and a mix of education providers and labour market actors.

Lot 2: Alliances for Sectoral Cooperation on Skills (Blueprint)

  • Strategic partnerships for skills development in 14 EU industrial ecosystems (e.g., digital, renewable energy, health, tourism).
  • Address short-term and long-term skills gaps and develop sectoral strategies, curricula, and qualifications.
  • Requires at least 8 EU member states, 12 partners, and engagement with the Pact for Skills initiative.
Application Details:
  • Submit proposals to the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) by 6 March 2025.
  • Projects under Lot 1 typically last 24–36 months; Lot 2 projects last 48 months.
  • Higher education institutions must hold a valid Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE).
Impact:

Alliances aim to drive innovation, upskilling, and reskilling, supporting Europe’s transition to a more sustainable and competitive economy while addressing societal challenges.
