The Balkan Civil Society Development Network (BCSDN) invites CSOs and academic institutions from the Western Balkans to apply for the first Civic Space Hackathon, taking place 17–18 June 2025 in Skopje.
Bring your best team (4–6 members) and co-create solutions to today’s biggest challenges to civic space: disinformation, smear campaigns, and restricted access to resources. Ideal teams will combine skills in activism, tech, law, design, and communications.
The hackathon aims to spark innovation, promote digital tools, and support promising ideas through mentorship and seed funding.
Prizes: €3,500 (1st), €2,000 (2nd) + potential follow-up contracts (up to €50,000).
Travel and accommodation are fully covered.
Who can apply:
Registered NGOs or academic institutions from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo*, Montenegro, North Macedonia, or Serbia.
Deadline: 11 May 2025
