Hungary Offers Scholarships to Students from Bosnia and Herzegovina Through Bilateral Agreement

Bosnia and Herzegovina continues to strengthen its educational cooperation with Hungary through a bilateral agreement that grants Bosnian students access to the Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship programme for 2023–2025. This programme provides full funding for higher education, including tuition fees, accommodation, and living expenses, while also supporting research activities required for students’ studies.

Under this agreement, Bosnia and Herzegovina can offer up to 50 scholarships annually for Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral programmes in Hungary, available in both Hungarian and English. The scholarships are part of Hungary’s Stipendium Hungaricum programme, which is managed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and coordinated by the Tempus Public Foundation. The programme is based on bilateral educational cooperation agreements and currently includes over 100 partner countries.

The partnership builds on the longstanding educational cooperation between BiH and Hungary, originally established with the Agreement on Cultural, Educational, and Scientific Cooperation signed in Budapest in 2005. It offers Bosnian students the opportunity to pursue higher education abroad without financial barriers while fostering stronger academic and cultural ties between the two countries.
