The Western Balkans is entering a transformative phase in industrial development, driven by digitalization, green transition, and circular economy practices. To support this process, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) has launched a regional survey as part of the project “Fostering Industry 4.0 for Green Transition and Circular Economy in the Western Balkans”, funded by the Governments of Slovenia and Cyprus.
The survey will help assess:
- Digital readiness – adoption potential of Industry 4.0 technologies such as automation, AI, IoT, and data analytics.
- Innovation capacity – opportunities to develop new products, services, and business models.
- Sustainability practices – approaches to energy efficiency, waste reduction, and resource reuse.
Stakeholders across the region are invited to take part, including:
- Manufacturing SMEs – to share their capabilities, challenges, and investment plans.
- Business Support Organizations (BSOs) – to highlight their role in facilitating transformation.
- Policy actors – to ensure support measures align with industry needs.
By joining, participants will help shape future policies, funding, and training programmes that can accelerate modernization and sustainability in the Western Balkans.
Deadline for participation: 8 September 2025
