Type of Action: RIA (Research and Innovation Action) – Lump Sum, Two-stage evaluation
Objectives:
- Investigate lifelong exposure to pollutants and links to neurodegenerative, neurodevelopmental, and brain disorders.
- Use exposome / neuro-exposome methodologies to understand health impacts.
- Generate FAIR data (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) on pollutant exposure & brain health.
- Integrate social sciences/behaviour aspects and provide policy-relevant insights.
- Ensure strong clustering/networking among funded projects.
Deadline
- Stage 1 (Short proposal): 16 September 2025 – 17:00 (Brussels time)
- Stage 2 (Full proposal): 16 April 2026 – 17:00 (Brussels time)
Eligibility:
- Open to legal entities from EU Member States and associated countries.
- Consortia of at least 3 independent entities from 3 different eligible countries required.
- International cooperation encouraged, especially with low- and middle-income countries.
Expected Impact:
- Improved understanding of how pollution contributes to brain disorders.
- Policy-relevant evidence supporting EU strategies on health and environment.
- Better data sharing through FAIR principles.
- Cross-disciplinary collaboration between environmental, medical, and social sciences.
