The workshop titled “Open Science at the University of Sarajevo: Initiatives and Support for Researchers” was held on 30 September 2025, in the Rectorate of the University of Sarajevo. The workshop was carried out within the framework of the Horizon Europe project “POLICY ANSWERS – Support for R&I Policy Making, Implementation and Support in the Western Balkans,” which aims to strengthen the capacities of relevant institutions and stakeholders in the field of research and development, in accordance with identified needs, strategic documents, and the priorities defined by the Agenda for the Progress of the Western Balkan countries.
Workshop participants, representatives of the constituent members of the University of Sarajevo, had the opportunity to learn about various initiatives aimed at implementing the concept of Open Science at the University of Sarajevo, such as: the ORN Project – Strengthening Joint Scientific Research Infrastructure, Technology Transfer, and Strengthening Cooperation with the Private Sector; the Open Science Policy of the University of Sarajevo; and open-access scientific journals.
The University of Sarajevo is one of 13 partners within the POLICY ANSWERS project, and the project implementation takes place within the Scientific Research Sector, represented by the Centre for Research and Development and the Scientific Research Department.
