Call for Applications: re:constitution Fellowships on Democracy and the Rule of Law 2026/27

The re:constitution Fellowships are now open for applications for the 2026/27 cycle, offering a unique opportunity for early- to mid-career scholars and practitioners to pursue research and publish on issues related to democracy and the rule of law in Europe. The programme invites applicants to engage in a structured yet flexible fellowship running from October 2026 to July 2027.

The Fellowships are designed to support interdisciplinary exchange and pan-European collaboration. A total of 15 places are available across two tracks, accommodating different professional needs and circumstances. Fellows benefit from a combination of research stays at host institutions across Europe, participation in exchange meetings, and access to a growing European Alumni Network.

Selected candidates receive a monthly stipend of €2,500 during their mobility periods. The programme includes three Fellows’ Exchange Meetings and opportunities to present research through the Online Fellow Talks series. Eligible applicants include residents of EU and non-EU EEA countries, as well as the Western Balkans.
