The Capacity Building in the Field of Youth in the Western Balkans (ERASMUS-YOUTH-2026-CB-WB) call is part of the Erasmus+ Programme and supports international cooperation projects aimed at strengthening youth organisations and youth work in Region 1 (Western Balkans). The action focuses on enhancing the role of youth organisations as key actors in non-formal learning, democratic participation, social inclusion, and socio-economic development.
The call targets multilateral partnerships between organisations active in the field of youth from EU Member States and countries associated with the Programme, and organisations from eligible third countries not associated to the Programme in the Western Balkans. Projects are expected to build organisational capacity, improve the quality and outreach of youth work, and empower young people—particularly those with fewer opportunities.
Funded projects should contribute to the EU Youth Strategy 2019–2027, including its Engage–Connect–Empower priorities, the European Youth Goals, and the European Youth Work Agenda. Key areas of intervention include promoting non-formal learning and youth mobility, strengthening youth participation in democratic life, enhancing entrepreneurial and innovative skills, fostering transnational cooperation, and developing new tools and methods for youth work, including digital solutions.
The action places strong emphasis on inclusiveness, sustainability, and scalability, encouraging projects to link results to local communities, disseminate outcomes effectively, and create opportunities that can be replicated beyond the partnership.
The call opened on 4 December 2025, with a submission deadline of 26 February 2026 at 17:00 (Brussels time).
