The Central European Initiative (CEI) has officially opened its 2025 Call for Proposals under the CEI Cooperation Fund, inviting eligible institutions from its Member States to submit project ideas that enhance regional cooperation and contribute to the implementation of the CEI’s strategic goals.
The overall indicative budget is EUR 442,000, funded by CEI Member States through the CEI Cooperation Fund.
Deadline for submissions: 9 June 2025, at 11:59 p.m. (midnight) CEST
Application limit: Each applicant institution can submit only one proposal
Budget Breakdown
- Segment 2.1 – CEI Thematic Agenda
- Up to EUR 252,000 available
- Additional EUR 90,000 reserved for qualifying CEI Flagship Events (under Segment 2.1 only)
- Segment 2.2 – Focused Section
- Up to EUR 100,000 available
CEI Contribution Limits
- Segment 2.1: Up to EUR 15,000 per project
- Segment 2.2: Up to EUR 25,000 per project
Who Can Apply?
The Call is open to a wide range of applicants based and registered in CEI Member States, including:
- Public and public-equivalent bodies
- Private entities
- Non-governmental and civil society organisations (NGOs/CSOs)
- International organisations
Please note: individuals are not eligible to apply.
Application Requirements
To submit a valid application, all documents must be uploaded in PDF format, not exceeding 2MB per file. The following annexes must be included:
- Budget outline (Excel template)
- Applicant’s signature (Word template)
- Official proof of registration (not required for public entities)
- Courtesy English translation of registration (not required for public entities)
- Participation scheme (Word template)
- Proposed work programme (only for Segment 2.2)
A Pre-submission Checklist is available for internal use to help applicants ensure compliance with the Call’s requirements. This checklist does not need to be submitted.
Applicants are strongly encouraged to carefully review the Call documentation, which includes the CEI Plan of Action, guidelines, and all relevant annexes, available on the official CEI website.
