The Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership’s Open Call for Experts

The Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership (SBEP) has announced its Open Call for Experts to evaluate pre-proposals submitted under the Third Joint Transnational Co-Funded Call. This call, launched on 29 September 2025, invites experts to participate in the evaluation process for the pre-proposals submitted under the call titled: “Digitalisation and Innovation for Resilient Marine Ecosystems, Businesses, and Communities to Strengthen the EU Blue Economy Competitiveness”

Key Information:

Call Launch Date: 29 September 2025, 15:00 CEST (Brussels Time)

Evaluation Process: The evaluation will be conducted in two steps: a pre-proposal step and a full proposal step. Experts will assess the scientific quality of the proposals submitted in both stages.

Priority Areas: The call focuses on five priority areas:

  1. Digital Twins of the Ocean (DTOs) at sub-basin scale
  2. Transitioning the blue economy sectors and developing marine multi-use infrastructures
  3. Climate-Smart Planning and managing sea-uses at the regional level
  4. Blue Bioresources; sustainable fisheries and aquaculture, and new bio-based products
  5. Resilient Coastal Communities and Businesses

Expert Requirements: The SBEP seeks experts with high-level expertise and experience in one or more of the priority areas. Evaluators will form an International Evaluation Committee (IEC) and are expected to have relevant experience in the fields related to the sustainable ocean economy. The deadline for submitting pre-proposals is 17 November 2025, 15:00 CET. A provisional deadline for full proposal submission is 17 June 2026, 15:00 CEST.
