University of Montenegro Launches Award Competition for Best Student Startup Ideas

The Office for Career Development and Lifelong Learning at the University of Montenegro has announced the fourth edition of its Award Competition for the Best Startup and Entrepreneurial Idea. Open to all University students, the competition offers a prize fund exceeding €10,000, supported by the University and several national partners.

Funding has been provided by the University of Montenegro, the Development Bank of Montenegro, the Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro, CKB Bank, Tehnopolis, and the Science and Technology Park of Montenegro.

Students may apply individually or as part of a team of up to three members. Each candidate may submit up to two applications, while teams may submit up to three ideas. The application deadline is 5 May 2025.

A commission will shortlist five proposals to receive mentorship from experts affiliated with the University and its partner institutions. The two-week mentoring programme includes two to three meetings per week. Following this phase, a final selection of winning ideas will be made by a committee composed of representatives from the University and the competition partners.

Applications must be submitted in printed form, unsigned, and marked with a code of up to five alphanumeric characters, in a sealed envelope to preserve author anonymity. A separate sealed envelope should contain the author’s personal details – full name, proof of student status, phone number, and email address – labelled with the same code.

Submissions should be delivered by post or in person to:
University of Montenegro, Cetinjska Street no. 2, 81000 Podgorica,
with the note: “Application for the award competition for the best start-up and entrepreneurial idea of students”.

The application form is available as an attachment to the official announcement. For further inquiries, students may contact: developmentkarijere@ucg.ac.me.
