A recent publication offers an in-depth analysis of the intersection between digitalisation and gender equality in Kosovo, employing a newly developed model. The scope of digitalisation in Kosovo spans various fields, including the rule of law, social services, education, employment, business and trade, agriculture, environmental protection, energy and climate change, healthcare, media, and communication.
The report aims to identify how digitalisation policies and programs affect both women and men, providing recommendations to ensure these initiatives are gender-responsive. The Kosovo Women’s Network (KWN) designed and implemented a comprehensive and gender-responsive digital transformation model, adapted from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), to analyse gender inclusion across different sectors and dimensions.
The publication highlights the lack of gender analyses in Kosovo and suggests that such an approach could help address existing inequalities, improve laws and public policies, and support the country’s digital transformation in line with European Union (EU) requirements. The publication was co-financed by the European Union (EU) and Sweden, carried out as part of the EQUAPRO Coalition’s efforts to assist the EU in preparing gender analyses to inform work across various sectors. This report aims to inform the ongoing efforts of the Government of Kosovo towards digitalisation.
