JRC Essentials, Tools and Practices for Countries and Regions

The booklet showcases the JRC’s tools available to stakeholders from government, central and local administration, academia, and other research organizations, exemplified by best practices in the Member States.

Its structure includes three parts:

  1. A general introduction about the JRC, including its mission, core strengths, institutional networks, scientific portfolios, collaboration agreements, and science-for-policy approach.
  2. 21 chapters on different topics in line with the JRC’s priorities and composition of portfolios.
  3. A list of other resources that the JRC can provide for scientific development, such as Knowledge and Competence Centres, standards and reference materials, tools for sustainable territorial development, open access to research infrastructures, scientific development programmes, and career opportunities at the JRC.

Through its unique range of activities, including research, development, and innovation, as well as training and capacity-building programmes, the JRC offers its services to all actors in the Member States and beyond.
