Work Programmes are formal documents of the European Commission that set out the objectives and topics addressed in specific programmes. They are detailed implementation plans for the research themes and activities e.g. in the context of the EU’s Framework Programmes for Research and Technological Development (i.e. Horizon Europe), as they specify the concrete scientific-technological, economic and societal objectivies of the different activities, providing the background as well as details on the technical content. A roadmap for the planned calls for proposals is outlined and indications on the instruments that will be available in each call are provided as well as evaluation criteria that will be applied.
