TRATOLOW (Transition towards low emissions and climate-resilient economy in the Western Balkans and Türkiye) overall objective is to contribute to climate change mitigation and adaptation and the development towards a resource-efficient, low emissions and climate-resilient economy.
With the help of a European consortium, the European Commission is supporting the countries of the Western Balkans and Türkiye in the areas of climate protection and adaptation to climate change.
With its European Green Deal and the European Climate Policy, Europe aims at becoming the first climate-neutral continent in the world with strengthened resilience and reduced vulnerability to the effects of climate change. To meet the climate neutrality target by 2050, the EU´s climate and energy policy contains a number of regulations and strategies with various targets for the period 2030–2050. All beneficiary countries have already benefitted from projects and initiatives supporting them in implementing the EU environment and climate acquis in the past. A focus of this project is to enhance the regional cooperation in view of the Stabilisation and Association process.
