Albania to Open Negotiations for Cluster 3: Competitiveness and Inclusive Growth

On 22 May 2025 in Brussels, Albania will officially open negotiations for Cluster 3: Competitiveness and Inclusive Growth with the European Union. This important cluster covers key areas such as the information society, taxation, economic and social policy, enterprise and industrial policy, science and research, education and culture, and customs union.

With 27 negotiating chapters now opened in just eight months — and only nine chapters remaining — Albania is demonstrating an impressive pace in its EU accession process.

This milestone reflects not just progress, but real momentum on Albania’s path to EU membership. It highlights the country’s commitment to reforms and alignment with the EU acquis across critical sectors that directly impact citizens’ lives and long-term development.
