The “Ecosystem connectors with Berlin Innovation Fellowship” program is an individual program with aim to create long term results.
The core objective of the program is to build long-term partnerships enabling sustainable growth, cross-border collaboration, and long-term access to German market via Berlin.
A new initiative by Betahaus X, Ecosystem Connectors Western Balkans, is advancing cross-regional collaboration by linking innovation actors across the Western Balkans and the European Union. The programme focuses on fostering stronger ties between startups, entrepreneurs, innovation hubs and policymakers, contributing to a more integrated and resilient innovation ecosystem in the region.
The initiative supports knowledge exchange and capacity building through curated networking opportunities, community engagement and tailored support for ecosystem players. By connecting local actors with European innovation networks, Ecosystem Connectors helps to bridge structural gaps and enhance the visibility and competitiveness of Western Balkan innovators.

Target group: Startup founder or Business Support Organisation. In Sarajevo & Tirana, the call is open to 20* Innovation support organisations, startups and scale-ups, ecosystem builders and program managers.
The program is best fitted for organisations with existing ties too Berlin or a good understanding of its ecosystem and players.
This is an individualistic scaling program, not suitable for early exploration stage.
A central objective of the programme is to empower ecosystem builders—such as incubators, accelerators and community leaders—who play a key role in shaping local innovation landscapes. Through peer-learning formats, workshops and cross-border collaboration, participants gain access to best practices, strategic insights and new partnership opportunities.
Participants receive financial support to cover travel and stay, allowing them to focus fully on building meaningful partnerships within Berlin’s startup ecosystem.
