Bilateral Agreements of North Macedonia in Education

North Macedonia has established a wide network of bilateral agreements in education, signed at the state level through the Ministry of Education and Science. These agreements cover scholarships, summer schools, short study visits, language learning, student and staff mobility, and joint research projects.

North Macedonia has signed such agreements with Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, Turkey, Spain, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Russia, China, Japan, and India.

In addition to state-level agreements, schools and higher education institutions in North Macedonia also sign their own bilateral cooperation arrangements with international partners. These partnerships often stem from twin-city initiatives, bilingual school collaborations, Erasmus+ projects, or direct university-to-university cooperation. They enable exchanges of academic staff, student mobility, joint research, and shared participation in international projects and foundations, helping universities pursue both short- and long-term goals.

Through these bilateral ties, North Macedonia strengthens its academic, cultural, and scientific exchange, further integrating its education system within the global academic community.
