Concerns Raised Over Horizon Europe Budget Reshuffle

Research organisations have raised concerns regarding a proposed reshuffle of the Horizon Europe budget, warning that adjustments could have immediate impacts on key programme components.

In particular, stakeholders highlight potential risks to funding streams such as the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA), emphasising that budget reallocations may affect researcher mobility, training opportunities and project continuity.

The issue is of direct relevance to the Western Balkans, where participation in Horizon Europe programmes, including MSCA, plays a significant role in strengthening research capacity, international collaboration and integration into the European Research Area.
