EIT Community Hub Albania Launches Innovation Drive with Two Landmark Events

From creative industries to clean energy; Albania’s innovators, policymakers, and entrepreneurs connected with European funding and partnership opportunities at two dedicated events in Tirana.

In February 2026, the EIT Community Hub Albania hosted two events designed to bring Albanian stakeholders closer to the European innovation ecosystem. Focusing on two distinct yet complementary sectors, culture and creativity, and energy and industry, the events introduced participants to the programmes, funding instruments, and partnership networks available through the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) and its Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs).

Co-organized with the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Sports and within the framework of the Creative Europe Desk Albania, this national-level event introduced the mission of the EIT and presented the activities and opportunities of EIT Culture & Creativity (KIC).

The event connected cultural operators, creative professionals, SMEs, universities, and innovators with European innovation, entrepreneurship, and funding instruments in the cultural and creative sectors. Participants from public institutions, creative industries, academia, financial and support organizations, and the business community engaged in discussions on cultural innovation, cross-sector cooperation, and international collaboration.

Speakers: Dr. Françeska Korançe (EIT Community Hub Albania), Ms. Elona Xhaferri (EU4Innovation, GIZ), and Mr. Sokol Spahiu (OSHEE)

Panel discussions addressed Albania’s energy transition, industrial competitiveness, regulatory frameworks, and sustainable construction, featuring representatives from the Transmission System Operator, Energy Regulatory Authority, Novamat, Enternovu, Green Building Council Albania, and ProCredit Bank.

Participants; including policymakers, industry leaders, financial institutions, academia, and innovators gained a clearer understanding of European funding mechanisms and business support schemes, strengthening Albania’s capacity to participate in European energy and industrial innovation initiatives.
