Horizon Europe Week Held in Prishtina to Boost R&I Participation

Over 60 researchers, academics, and institutional representatives gathered in Prishtina for Horizon Europe Week, a three-day event aimed at strengthening Kosovo*’s engagement in the EU’s flagship research and innovation programme.

Organised by the SHER Programme in collaboration with MESTI and Kosovo’s National Contact Points, the event focused on proposal development, funding access, and international cooperation.

Day 1 featured individual consultations for researchers developing Horizon Europe proposals, with expert guidance from Mr Gorazd Weiss (ZSI) and MESTI staff. Day 2 included an official opening, presentations on Horizon Europe pillars and funding schemes, and a panel of local and international experts. Day 3 offered a hands-on proposal writing workshop, covering structure, impact planning, and budgeting.

The week reinforced Kosovo’s commitment to research excellence and deeper integration with EU funding programmes.

SHER is funded by the Austrian Development Agency, co-financed by MESTI, and implemented by WUS Austria, ZSI, and OeAD.
