Inno-BootCamp: A Review of the Early Pre-acceleration Programme and Participants Experiences

From 1 to 3 December, the Science and Technology Park of Montenegro hosted Inno-BootCamp, an early pre-acceleration program dedicated to the topic of “Transforming research into marketable solutions and developing startups”. The program was led by George Panagiotakopoulos, a recognized expert in innovation and startup ecosystem development, with many years of experience in cooperation with universities, companies and governments around the world. As the head of global expansion at the University of California – Berkeley, George leads international accelerator programs and initiatives that connect academia, industry and policymakers, which represents a model particularly relevant for the development of the innovation ecosystem in Montenegro.

During three days of intensive work, participants improved the skills necessary for high-quality presentation of ideas, validation of solutions and development of sustainable business models through practical workshops, mentoring support and direct insight into the investor perspective. Special focus was placed on the transformation of scientific research results into innovations that meet real market needs.

Inno-BootCamp is designed to inspire researchers, innovators and other ecosystem actors to develop strategic thinking, entrepreneurial determination and the ability to create high-impact solutions. The program combines technical expertise, entrepreneurial skills and understanding of the policies that shape the innovation environment, creating an environment in which ideas can develop and grow into successful startups.
The programme brought together a diverse group of participants, including those who traveled from Novi Sad, Bar and Budva, to participate throughout the three days. Through working with the lecturer, the participants had the opportunity to learn about the key catalysts for success, as well as potential challenges on the path of every innovator, and to further improve their ideas and direct them towards sustainable market solutions.

The Science and Technology Park of Montenegro organized this program within the project “R&I POLICY making, implementation ANd Support in the WEsteRn BalkanS” (POLICY ANSWERS), which was funded by the European Union through the Horizon Europe program for research and innovation.
