Interreg Danube Region Programme Provides Support through the Seed Money Facility

On 26 June 2024 the Monitoring Committee of the Danube Region Programme held its 5th meeting in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina and approved 36 new projects of the “Seed Money Facility”.

These projects, with a total funding over €3 million, will be addressing 12 priority areas outlined in the EU Strategy for the Danube Region. The funding aims to kickstart initiatives that can later seek support from national, cross-border, or other transnational EU programs and financial instruments.

Five of these 36 projects are coordinated by an organisation from the Western Balkans: four from Serbia and one from Montenegro.

Montenegro:

  • Project “Green-Pro” with the lead applicant: University of Montenegro, Faculty of Maritime Studies Kotor; related to Priority Area 1a of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR)

Serbia:

  • Project “IARTE” with the lead applicant Regional Development Agency Eastern Serbia; related to Priority Area 3 of the EUSDR
  • Project “EDUREGION” with the lead applicant Foundation Tempus related to EUSDR Priority Area 7 (Knowledge Society)
  • Project “NUANCE” coordinated by the University of Belgrade, Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory, related ot PA7
  • Project “URGE” coordinated by University of Belgrade, also related to PA7
