Launch of a challenge for students about applications of particle accelerators for society!

Following the success of previous editions of the I.FAST CBI Challenge Based Innovation (see attached articles), a special CBI event will take place in Sarajevo from September 22nd until October 1st 2026, dedicated to applications of particle accelerators for society that could be of interest for regions such as the Balkans. 

Hence, the targeted case study is: implementation in the Balkans.

Applications are welcome from senior bachelor and master students from European universities studying physics, medicine, engineering, material science, environmental science, life sciences, applied mathematics, or related.

Applications from students outside these fields will also be considered if they show that they can bring a significant contribution to the challenge. Interest or experience in the fields of particle accelerators will be an advantage but is not required.
