The University of Pristina’s new Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMNS) building is set to become a model for inclusive, sustainable higher education infrastructure in Kosovo*.
UNOPS recently hosted a site event to showcase the building’s construction progress and highlight its design focus on environmental sustainability, gender inclusion, and health and safety. EU officials, university leadership, students, and experts were present to explore how the new facility is reshaping both the educational landscape and the construction sector’s approach to diversity.
Co-funded by the European Union and the Government of Kosovo and implemented by UNOPS, the project has received a total of $12.9 million from the EU and $6.6 million from the government. Recent funding will support advanced research and teaching capacities, aligning the university with European higher education standards.
