Participate in a Consultation by the European Commission on the Upcoming EU Funding Period

Between 12 February 2025 and 6 May 2025, the European Commission looking for input through a consultation process in order to prepare for the next multiannual financial framework (MFF), the EU’s long-term budget, which will start in 2028. The Commission aims to create a simpler, more focused, and responsive budget that reflects European strategic priorities.

To achieve this, seven public consultations are launched to gather views from interested parties on how to make the most of the EU budget. The consultations cover various policy areas, including cohesion policy, agriculture, and home affairs, with the goal of creating a more effective and efficient budget that delivers on key objectives. The Commission’s proposals are expected to be presented in 2025.

Among the consultations, there are several which are of relevance for stakeholders from the Western Balkans, for example, EU funding for competitiveness as all WBs are associated to Horizon Europe and hopefully also actively engaged in the successor programme. Furthermore, consultations are launched about EU funding for external action, EU funding for cross-border education, training and solidarity, youth, media, culture, and creative sectors, values, and civil society, etc.

Everyone can contribute to this consultation by filling in an online questionnaire.

The Commission would like to hear your views.

Your input will be taken into account as we further develop and fine-tune this initiative. The EC will summarise the input received in a synopsis report, explaining how we have taken it into account. Feedback received will be published and therefore must adhere to the feedback rules.
