RIINVEST Istitute organised in cooperation with key stakeholders, organised a workshop focused on Kosovo’s preparedness for project preparation and implementation related to the EU Economic and Investment Plan and the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans. The event took place on 3 March.
Around 30 participants from government institutions, the EU Office in Kosovo, the EBRD, the World Bank, and other financial institutions actively engaged in discussions on how to increase Kosovo’s participation in different windows and flagship initiatives of the Western Balkans Investment Framework (WBIF).
Key topics addressed during the workshop included application procedures, the need for further capacity building, improving coordination processes within government institutions and with the EU, and strengthening cooperation with the private sector and SMEs. Representatives of the Riinvest Institute presented an overview of the current state of play regarding Kosovo’s participation in WBIF, highlighting opportunities to improve the application process and strengthen the absorptive capacity of institutions and potential beneficiaries in order to increase Kosovo’s share in the opportunities offered by WBIF.
Important contributions to the discussion were provided by Hubert Perr, Head of Cooperation at the EU Office in Kosovo, and Florim Canolli, Director of the Development Cooperation Office at the Office of the Prime Minister.
The event was broadcast through social media, covered by national television channels and online media platforms, and also highlighted by the EU Office in Kosovo.
