On 11 May, the Regional Cooperation Council organised a meting for regional actors presenting on different activities by the international community. POLICY ANSWERS coordinator, Elke Dall, informed about the project and other Horizon Europe opportunities highlighted via the Western Balkans Info Hub.
The meeting included information about the RCC’s planned and potential actions in 2022 within the Common Regional Market Action Plan (CRM) designed to foster regional innovation ecosystem developments. This was followed by an overview in relation to the Western Balkans Research & Innovation Infrastructure Roadmap by Djuro Kutlaca and Lazar Zivkovic, Institute Mihajlo Pupin (also a partner in the POLICY ANSWERS project). They have been hired as RCC’s experts to create the Roadmap and presented strategic fields for the future investments in research and innovation infrastructure with a potential to contribute to economic development and post-covid recovery.
Several stakeholders with initiatives focusing on innovation & research in and on the Western Balkans provided outlines of the ongoing and planned initiatives that open up opportunities for the region’s research organisations, innovators and businesses.
