On 26 and 27 February 2024, representatives of the University of Banja Luka participated in a meeting and workshops organized as part of the Bioeconomy Excellence Alliance for Stimulating Innovative and Inclusive Green Transition (BEAMING) project.
This event, which was held in Budapest, was on behalf of the University of Banja Luka attended by Full Professor of the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Banja Luka Željko Vaško, PhD, Associate Professor of the Faculty of Forestry Dragan Čomić, PhD, and Head of the University Development and Research Support Centre Anđela Pepić, PhD,.
This was an opportunity to define the work tasks within the project in more detail, with a focus on research in the field of bioeconomy, and on the application of the principles of open science, inclusivity and valorization of knowledge. Moreover, ideas and experiences in the aforementioned areas were exchanged.
The goal of this four-year project funded through the Horizon Europe programme, in which the University of Banja Luka is one of the consortium partners, is to respond to the need to strengthen the competitive ability and visibility of higher education institutions in Europe, with special reference to the countries of Eastern Europe and the Western Balkans. To this end, the BEAMING project fosters a culture of collaboration through the achievement of various goals: strengthening the skills and capacities of early-career researchers in bioeconomy research, supporting institutional reforms, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration, enhancing technology transfer, and fostering an inclusive institutional culture.
