Results of Erasmus+ Capacity Building Projects in Higher Education

A media conference showcased the results of Erasmus+ projects for capacity building in higher education, presented by the Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation and the Head of Cooperation at the EU Office in Kosovo*.

The Deputy Minister highlighted the significant role of Erasmus+ as the EU’s flagship programme, offering numerous opportunities through the Erasmus+ office in Kosovo. These initiatives have enhanced cooperation between local and international organisations in higher education and vocational education and training.

Since the programme’s inception:

  • Over 10,000 students and academic/administrative staff have participated in short-term exchanges through the Erasmus+ Credit Mobility Programme.
  • More than 50 Erasmus Mundus Master’s scholarships have been awarded to students from Kosovo.

Additionally, higher education institutions in Kosovo have secured 75 Capacity-Building Projects and 11 institutions have received the Erasmus Higher Education Charter.

The Head of Cooperation emphasised the transformative impact of Erasmus+ projects, with 63 students from Kosovo receiving joint master’s degree scholarships. These projects have driven institutional development and reform in Kosovo’s education sector, showcasing the ambition and excellence of Kosovo’s youth.

The results underline Erasmus+ as a pivotal driver for the modernisation, development, and internationalisation of higher education in Kosovo.
