Skopje’s STEM Academy celebrated outstanding achievements as their teams, Space Walkers and Space Walkers Jr., clinched first and second place at the Global Sports Robotics Olympiad in Crete, Greece. Competing against 1450 teams from 36 countries, these young robotics enthusiasts, aged 13 to 18, excelled in the “Pentathlon Arena” category.
The competition challenged teams to design and program autonomous robots to complete complex missions on a specialized field. The Space Walkers earned the highest score among all competitors, while Space Walkers Jr. received the Innovative Project award for their excellent presentation skills.
“This success not only fills us with pride but also underscores the talent and potential of Macedonian youth. It reflects our commitment at the STEM Academy to foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and innovation, elevating our global presence with our human capital,” remarked Zharko Pop-Iliev, executive director of STEM Academy.
