As part of the POLICY ANSWERS project, Daniela Kuzmanović, a Research Associate at the InstituteMihajlo Pupin , participated in the Fellowship programme hosted by the Centre for Social Innovation (ZSI) in Vienna, the coordinating institution of the project.

The purpose of the fellowship was to examine good practice models in Austria and Serbia, to support better academia-industry collaborations in Western Balkans economies. The research particularly explored the initiatives and good practices of the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG) and the Austrian Cooperative Research (ACR).

During meetings with representatives from FFG and ACR, discussions centred on research funding mechanisms, institutional support for innovation, and policies that enhance collaboration between academia and industry.
As a result of this fellowship, the document “Paths Towards Strengthening and Transforming Academia-Industry Cooperation in the Western Balkans. Lessons from Austria and Serbia” was developed, providing strategic recommendations for fostering stronger partnerships between academia and industry in the Western Balkans.
