Study Visit to Seville: Innovation Ecosystems, Research Infrastructures and Policy Insights

MIR Foundation undergoes capacity building (CB) activities through participation at dedicated conferences and trainings abroad, bringing back and disseminating the knowledge for achieving multiplier effects. In this framework, the study visit in Seville is designed to strengthen regional cooperation and support policy learning.

Objectives of the Study Visit

  • Explore leading innovation ecosystems in Seville (Sevilla TechPark, Cartuja 93), to understand models that foster entrepreneurship, digital and green transitions, and regional development.
  • Learn from EU-level research and policy support through the Joint Research Centre – Seville, focusing on how evidence-based research informs policymaking.
  • Gain insights into incubation and startup support at Tecnoincubadora Marie Curie, including approaches for financing, mentoring, and international networking.
  • Exchange good practices in science–society engagement through institutions like La Casa de la Ciencia, focusing on communication, public outreach, and citizen involvement in research and innovation.
  • Strengthen regional cooperation by connecting Western Balkan stakeholders with Spanish and EU counterparts to support inclusive innovation and policy learning.

Participation at herCAREER Munich: Fostering inclusion, networking and capacity building

The MIR team also undergoes capacity building (CB) activities through participation at dedicated conferences and trainings abroad, bringing back and disseminating the knowledge for achieving multiplier effects. In this framework, participation at the herCAREER event in Munich is planned to strengthen expertise in gender equality, diversity, and inclusive innovation.

Objectives of the Participation

  • Engage in Europe’s leading career and networking platform for women, gaining inspiration and practical insights on gender equality, women’s empowerment, and professional development.
  • Explore innovative approaches to career advancement and leadership development, relevant for inclusive policies and programs in the Western Balkans.
  • Connect with international experts, companies, and institutions to exchange practices on diversity, talent development, and workplace inclusion.
  • Bring back knowledge and tools for supporting women entrepreneurs, researchers, and professionals, and integrate them into MIR’s ongoing initiatives.
  • Enhance MIR’s role as a knowledge multiplier by disseminating lessons learned to stakeholders and partners in the region.
