Open Medical Institute

The Open Medical Institute (OMI) is a global medical education initiative founded by the American Austrian Foundation and Open Society Foundations. It provides advanced training for physicians from around the world, especially from low- and middle-income countries, through seminars in Salzburg, clinical observerships, and satellite symposia in their home countries.

With over 28,000 fellowships awarded to date, OMI fosters international collaboration, strengthens healthcare systems, and supports medical leadership and knowledge exchange across borders.
