The Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) is an intergovernmental Euro-Mediterranean organisation that brings together all the countries of the European Union and 16 of the Southern and Eastern Mediterranean. The UfM provides them with a forum to enhance regional cooperation and dialogue while implementing concrete projects and initiatives that have a tangible impact on the citizens of its Member States. Some Western Balkans are member states of UfM (see bold):
Albania, Algeria, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Latvia, Lebanon, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Malta, Mauritania, Monaco, Montenegro, Morocco, The Netherlands, North Macedonia, Palestine, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Syria (suspended membership since 1 December 2011), Tunisia and Türkiye. Libya has observer status.
