Description of the programme/policy
Based on awareness of the significance and importance of cultural identity, but also of identity in general, the Culture Development Strategy of the Republic of Srpska 2017–2022. priority is to raise the general appreciation of culture and art, as key factors in the creation, maintenance and promotion of cultural identity. It is a development document by which the Ministry of Education and Culture, based on a previously performed analysis of the situation, determines the strategic directions of the cultural development of the Republika Srpska, defines the cultural policy, recognizes the key carriers of cultural development and plans ways to improve and encourage it.
Main objective of the programme/policy
The main objective of the Strategy is to provide and secure personnel, legal, organisational, financial and other conditions for the quality development of cultural and artistic creativity, the preservation, protection and promotion of cultural heritage and the strengthening of cultural infrastructure. Create and provide conditions for quality international cooperation at all levels of culture. To ensure the development and active participation of the audience in culture and all cultural processes, and to make cultural content available to every individual in the community.
Specific objective of the programme/policy
Specific strategic goals: Establishing a system of transparent cultural policy, High level of artistic production and professionalisation, Cultural literacy (media, theatre, film…) in the community – active audience, Internationalisation and presence on the international stage and decentralisation.
