Description of the programme / policy
Advanced foreign students and doctoral candidates (from the countries of Eastern Europe, Central Asia, the South Caucasus and the Western Balkans) receive a scholarship for their research locally (Sur-Place scholarship) as well as for a short study visit at the German partner university.
Main objective of the programme/policy
Next to contributing to young scientists’s qualifification, the programme aims to intensify university collaboration and counter the ‘brain drain’ of scientists.
Specific objective of the programme/policy
The programme intensifies the contacts between young foreign researchers and German universities while supporting the students at their respective institutions in their home countries.
