The Commission has launched a European Strategy for Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Science to reinforce Europe’s technological and scientific leadership, as well as its competitiveness, through harnessing the potential of AI technologies in science and support scientists to adopt them for their research.
AI has a major impact on science and the scientific process – from literature reviews to laboratory automation, from life sciences to humanities. It drives scientific breakthroughs aimed at addressing major societal challenges, from health to climate.
To make the most of these opportunities, and position Europe at the forefront of this global development, the AI in Science Strategy outlines a coordinated and strategic approach. It introduces RAISE – the Resource for AI Science in Europe, a virtual institute pooling talent and resources to drive excellence in AI research.
