Serbia Adopts Strategy for the Development of Artificial Intelligence for the Period 2025–2030

Serbia has adopted a new Strategy for the Development of Artificial Intelligence for 2025–2030, marking the continuation of its early leadership in AI following its first national strategy in 2019. Building on strong institutional and policy foundations, the new framework focuses on strengthening legislation, expanding AI education and skills, investing in research and innovation, and advancing digital and computing infrastructure, including the National AI Platform. The government views the strategy as essential for preparing the country for global technological shifts and for modernizing public services, industry, and society.

The strategy was developed in consultation with national experts and the Government’s Council for Artificial Intelligence. Minister Jelena Begović emphasized that the new measures will support AI-based solutions across sectors such as healthcare, energy, public administration, and agriculture. Through targeted investments and programs funded by the Science Fund and the Innovation Fund, Serbia aims to accelerate innovation, improve public services, and prepare for future technological applications that will also feature prominently at EXPO 2027.
