The first constitutive session of the Working Group for the development of Montenegro’s Artificial Intelligence Strategy for the period 2026–2030, together with the accompanying Action Plan for 2026, was held today.
During the session, members discussed the strategic directions and priorities for the development of artificial intelligence in Montenegro, covering ethical and regulatory frameworks, education and digital skills development, as well as the application of AI technologies in public administration, healthcare, the economy and security.
The aim of the Strategy is to enable Montenegro to respond to global challenges posed by the development of artificial intelligence and to harness the potential of this technology for smart, sustainable and inclusive socio-economic progress.
The Working Group brings together representatives from public institutions, academia, the private sector and civil society, ensuring an inclusive approach and cooperation among all relevant actors in the drafting process. Only through joint efforts can Montenegro shape a future in which artificial intelligence serves its citizens and contributes to improving quality of life.
In developing the Strategy, Montenegro will follow international best practices and rely on cooperation with international partners, particularly through the support of the European Union, in order to ensure alignment with European and global standards in the field of artificial intelligence.
