The European Commission has launched the Apply AI Alliance, a new governance and coordination platform bringing together policymakers and stakeholders to guide the EU’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) policy.
The Apply AI Alliance builds on the success of the European AI Alliance, serving as a digital hub where organisations and individuals can engage in sectoral workshops, annual consultations, and ongoing dialogue on AI adoption and challenges. It acts as the main contact point between the European Commission and the AI community, offering members opportunities to stay informed, exchange insights, and connect with peers. The Alliance is open to all including companies, academia, civil society, public administrations, and individual citizens.
Alongside the Alliance, the Commission is also establishing a European AI Observatory, which will coordinate the sectoral workshops, develop indicators to measure AI’s impact, and analyse how AI is transforming sectors and labour markets. Initially, it will track public and private AI investments based on a methodology developed with the OECD.
Together, the Apply AI Alliance and the AI Observatory will create an evidence-based, inclusive dialogue to shape EU AI policy, ensure flexibility in response to emerging developments, and expand focus areas such as finance, tourism, and e-commerce.
